Established in 2004, we are a company of more than 100 directly employed individuals and more than 35 domestic sub-contractors who work with us on a regular basis. We form one of the largest construction companies in Antigua and are one of the lead contractors on the PLH Project in Barbuda, where founder and Managing Director, Paul Smith oversees the operation. We have successfully completed over 50 high-end house builds and commercial projects ranging from US $450k to $5m. Senior Project Manager John Lawes oversees individual project builds in Antigua, whilst an experienced team of construction managers control on-site activities. Our team in Barbuda is ever expanding and consists of international and local professionals with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our equipment list is extensive and our suppliers well accustomed to working with our firm and efficient timelines, so our program times are reliably met. Our Office Manager, Nkems Ukachuku and her team manage project administration across Antigua and Barbuda, where we have satellite offices, vast staff accommodation & facilities.
What we do
Engineering
As UK chartered engineers, detailed design is part of the package or can come separate. Often we find details are onerous and unnecessarily over specified, we can value engineer these designs to reduce costs considerably. Or we can take design from first principle and work you structure out for you. We will find the best solution to foundations, structures, suspended elements or difficult detailing, helping the architect to choose the right material with the correct properties for the job it is required to do. This kind of pro-active design helps us keep our clients bills as low as possible. Please ask for a quote on engineering your build, you will be pleasantly surprised at how little it costs.
Strategic Partners
We have strong relationships with several local and international partners that make building with us an easier process. Purchasing in the USA or the UK is easy and shipping and consolidation is an efficient process. Many high-quality products to compliment your property are already held in stock on Island. This relieves the uncertainty of where to go and what to buy. Because they are strategic partners we get excellent rates unattainable elsewhere, and we are able to pass that advantage on to our clients as well as associated warranties.
Historical record keeping/ Site blogs
As a matter of course, all our projects receive blog spots that allow two-way communication in real time between all the important members of the project and the clients, avoiding disappointing mistakes due to lack of consultation or misunderstandings. A perfect tool to remember what happened during the build with photos taken on a nearly everyday basis showing progress and recording positions of pipes and conduits and other inclusions in the slabs and the walls.
Measurement process/ Quantity surveying
Full take off of plans can be undertaken and can be treated separately to a bid process. Complete measurement of every item in you build gives you peace of mind as to what is in the project and you can use it to compare bids. Like for like.
Land Surveying
With satellite based instruments we promise accuracy in field surveys such as topographys to within very small margins. Once on a site we use Total stations for millimetre accuracy. Our inventory includes pipe lasers, standard orbital lasers as well as automatic levels. Accuracy is all important and we can provide the very closest results.
Warranties/After-care
An established business, we offer valid warranties that are clear and relevant. Rare in the Islands with construction companies, these should be an important factor in anyone’s decision to build. Depending on your contract we always return to your property after sixty or ninety days beyond practical completion. When we return if there is anything that has gone wrong with your property we put it right usually at no cost to you, this is our customer satisfaction guarantee, a golden promise.
